1st, 2nd and 3rd September 2017
The Nantwich Food and Drink Festival is one of the few UK food festivals based in a town centre and in this case, what a town! This lovely town has one of the largest collections of historic buildings in Cheshire, with Elizabethan, Georgian and Victorian architecture throughout the town centre, and the 14th century St Mary’s Church, considered by some to be one of the finest medieval churches in the whole of England.
The narrow streets are full of independent shops, selling a wide variety of food, wine, and much more as well as a lively community of coffee shops, restaurants and bars.
There has been a market in Nantwich since 1720, and as well as the thriving market held each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, there is a Farmers’ market on the last Saturday of every month, full of high quality local produce.
For one long weekend each September, Nantwich is transformed into a food lovers’ paradise, with two marquees full of top quality food and drink producers from Cheshire, all around Great Britain and the world, as well as a wide variety of street food stalls, some operated by St Mary’s Church There is something for every age, taste and wallet, and it’s easy to find your way around the Festival and enjoy beautiful Nantwich at the same time, with plenty of friendly guides around town.
