Worship at New Horizons – Praising God with joy and energy

The worship at New Horizons is led by a small band. We try to use contemporary worship songs while including older hymns, often with a fresh, modern approach. We acknowledge that worship is not just about singing.

The songs are introduced to give context and meaning, and we also use times of silence and contemplation. We are continually experimenting with styles and formats for the service, ensuring that no two services are the same. The service makes use of computer and projector, so that words and images can be displayed for all.

Keeping up to date with modern worship songs isn’t easy. Below are links to some of the resources that are used to find songs and inspire our worship leaders.

  • Worship Central is a school of worship to train and equip worship leaders, musicians and worshippers.
  • Kingsway Music provides on line resources including sheet music to buy and download.
  • WorshipTogether.com is an American site providing resources and songs.

Jonathan Griffiths leads the worship at New Horizons. He is looking to introduce new songs and explore new ways of worshipping.

He works as a local GP, and if he finds time to relax, spends time with his family. He also regularly runs and gets out on the hills when he can.
