A great tradition of music has built up over many years at St Mary’s and there are now nearly 40 singers in the church choir. We have recently been delighted to admit 8 junior choristers from SING!@St Mary’s who are now working towards their RSCM ribbons and badges.
The choir helps to lead worship at the 10.45am and 6.00pm services as well as taking part in several services of celebration throughout the year for the major Christian festivals. We also sing choral evensong on the 4th Sunday of each month at 6.00pm.
We are supported by Simon Russell, our splendid organist as well as Jonathan Layfield our deputy organist.
We rehearse weekly on Fridays evenings at 7.30pm. If you are interested in joining this enthusiastic, expanding group, please contact the Musical Director, Alison Phillips, on 01270 625074.
