St Mary’s Church hosts a local Meeting of the Anglican Cursillo Movement. Those who have been on a Chester Diocesan Cursillo Weekend can choose to meet afterwards in small groups to encourage their Christian life. Anyone thinking they may be interested in coming along to a Weekend is very welcome beforehand at one of these Meetings, where members review what they have been doing in their Christian lives over the previous weeks.

The residential Weekends are held twice a year at different venues in the Diocese and provide reflective time and space to spend with God. They are intended to encourage worshipping Christians in their relationship with God and their activities in their own Parishes. The three day version begins on a Thursday teatime  and ends on a Sunday teatime. The two day version begins on Friday teatime and ends on a Sunday teatime.

Here is what some people have had to say about their Cursillo Weekend:

“It has led me to greater depths, heightened awareness and a
closer relationship with God than ever before”.
Judy Kuhle, Diocese of Winchester.

“It was a weekend which empowered each person: a truly
remarkable weekend”.
Pat Bloomfield, Lay Rector for Salisbury Cursillo weekend.

“Nothing too whacky there-just Jesus’ radical, unconditional love;
for me, for you, for the world out there”.
Ann Sangwin, Salisbury.
